 This is Peter Pepper, the hero of Data East's classic video game, BurgerTime. I drew this in the cartoony style I've been working with lately and used the in-game sprite and chef gear photo reference for inspiration instead of basing it on any official artwork. Nothing against the fine official art from the original game but I wanted to try my own thing in this case. He's bald because his sprite is bald and I chalk it up to his being so dedicated to the art of sandwich making that he shaves to ensure that a stray hair will never be in one of his food creations. Yes, seriously. The pepper shaker is green because that's the color that your "pepper" count is in the game. I don't remember if the H on his chef's toque means something or is just there instead of an asymmetrical P that would be backwards if the sprite were horizontally flipped so I kept the H. |
