Sean Chan - Wild Tiger (Twofold) - 2005
Artwork by James Beaver

When I changed the tone to Twofold's book to be a mostly-martial arts book, Sean here was one of the first new supporting characters that I made. He was supposed to be like Jackie Chan's early characters: the rascal student that shows much potential and eventually learns becomes a fighting machine and grows up... a little. In fact, he was supposed to look like Jackie, but I can't draw real people for crap. So I figured it'd be better that he was one of those people who swear that they look like someone famous, but really doesn't. While he's gained a much better backstory (hopefully, you'll read it some day), the core of his character still remains the same. This pose, inspired by by one from a 'Shaolin 5 animals' book that I have, shows his skill and his face captures his attitude just the way that I intended. I started to color this when I started to miss his old look with the long hair. I may go back and give him slightly longer hair.
