This is what would've been the cover of the first issue that I did back in 1996. It was colored with my old Berol Prismacolor marker/airbrushed Acrylics combo from my pre-computer coloring days. While that background doesn't represent an actual place (made the school building a double decker there just for the sake of background), it's close to the moment when Kenji realizes that the crap just hit the fan. I can't say much more than that because I'm simply re-using that 10-year old story later. Yes, I'm lazy. It's one of the few pictures I did then that I truly liked and it kind of impressed people. That's only because computer coloring hadn't really hit yet and I'm already rockin' the LENS FLARE. Seeing as how I had to make a stencil for that and not, say, press a magic button for it, Please give me a pass on that one. I just remembered that I colored each one of those chrome balls on the door to match the sky and the roof. I completely forgot that I was just that crazy then. As I say about every old-but-good pic I've done of my characters, I want to redraw that. Really, this NEEDS to be the cover of the first regular issue.
